More than 80 Illawarra high school students will today attend the 2024 Whitlam Youth Leaders Roundtable in Warilla, hosted by Member for Whitlam Stephen Jones.

The event has been held annually since 2010 and provides youth the opportunity to discuss key issues with their local federal MP and peers.

Schools to be represented by Years 9 to 11 students include:

• Dapto High School
• St Joseph's Catholic High School
• Warrawong High School
• Warilla High School
• Albion Park High School
• Illawarra Sports High School
• Lake Illawarra High School
• Corpus Christi Catholic High School
• Oak Flats High School
• Kanahooka High School
• Shellharbour Anglican College

The roundtable will include open conversation about leadership and values, key issues such as housing, social media and youth mental health, as well as workshops and activities.                                                                              

Later this year, the Member for Whitlam will also speak on the floor of Parliament to share some of the ideas raised by students at today’s roundtable.
