Media Release

Friday 24 January 2025

Today, the Independent Planning Commission (IPC) has rejected the proposal to establish a Plastics Recycling Facility in Moss Vale.

The rejection of this proposal is a win for our community.

Last year, I met with residents in the Moss Vale area who shared their concerns about the proposal.

Along with 2,900 other submissions, I urged the IPC to consider the environmental, social, and safety impacts on Moss Vale residents if the facility were to proceed. Find my submission here: https://www.ipcn.nsw.gov.au/cases/2024/10/moss-vale-plastics-recycling-facility.

I am proud to have been a part of the community effort to prevent this project from proceeding.

While a recycling facility is important, I have always maintained that the South-East sector of the Southern Highlands Innovation Park was the wrong location.
