Federal Member for Whitlam Stephen Jones has met with Shellharbour City Council and local community sporting organisation members to inspect the new additional sporting field at Myimbarr Community Park in Flinders.

The Albanese Government has committed more than $567,000 in funding for the local project under Phase 4 of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Work supported by the Albanese Government’s investment includes:

• Sports field lighting.
• Tiered seating.
• Extended fence behind northern goal.
• An additional water tank for irrigation.

The project is due for completion in mid-2024.
