Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis has cold-shouldered workers who travelled all the way to Canberra to speak to her about local jobs.

Workers from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven were told that she could not spare five minutes to chat to them and that all her staff members were also unavailable.

Illawarra MPs Sharon Bird and Stephen Jones and Labors candidate for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, slammed the Liberal MPs snub.

Ms Bird said that the excuse of being busy wasnt good enough.

The fact that Ann Sudmalis couldnt make the time to meet them speaks volumes. This Government just doesnt care about local jobs and listening to the concerns of regional workers who have come all the way to Canberra.

Stephen Jones said that Labor would maintain the fight.

Sharon Bird and I were more than happy to visit the Jobs Embassy outside Parliament House and listen to what these workers had to say.

You can always find time if it is important enough, I suppose Ms Sudmalis has other priorities.

Labors candidate for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, said that Ms Sudmalis needed to turn her attention to jobs in the Shoalhaven region.

Just yesterday we heard that the Brotherhood of St Laurence Report Australias Youth Unemployment Hotspots, showed that the Shoalhaven has youth unemployment of 18.4 per cent, a rise of 10.5 per cent since 2015 under Ann Sudmalis.

This makes the Shoalhaven now the eighth highest region in Australia for youth unemployment.
