Shellharbour City Council has welcomed a $5 million funding commitment from the Australian Government under the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP) to match Shellharbour City Councils $5.9 million contribution for the much-needed upgrade of Yellow Rock Road in Tullimbar.

The project will transform a narrow rural road into a modern, safer thoroughfare, ensuring better connectivity, improved pedestrian access, and enhanced road safety for the growing local community.

The Australian Government is delivering real investments in safer roads and better infrastructure for our communities. This $5 million funding commitment will support local jobs, improve road safety, and help ensure families, workers, and businesses have better access to essential transport links in one of the fastest growing areas in the state of NSW.

Project features include:

  • Widening of Yellow Rock Road to two travel lanes
  • New kerb and guttering for improved drainage
  • Additional on-street parking to support local access
  • Upgraded intersections and access points
