I cautiously welcome news that the Prime Minister is launching a national taskforce to help tackle the crystal methamphetamine or "ice" epidemic, which is having a particularly profound impact on the bush.

But to succeed we must recognise that law enforcement efforts can only do so much - the greatest avoidable cause of ice addiction is inequality. We can't afford to just declare another "War on Drugs", underlying social and economic issues must be carefully considered
